You will start from Le Bandie lake and move through the green hills of Montello, until you coast along the famous Piave river and the entire area of the historic bunkers used by soldiers during the First World War.

It will be a way to go back in time and see with your own eyes how people lived that historical moment. In fact, there is a real itinerary of bunkers linked to the Montello area which, even 100 years later, still bears evidence of the historical period of the First World War.

Thanks to its karst nature, Montello has more than 60 natural caves of various sizes, accessible and communicating with the outside. During the First World War, numerous of these caves were used as shelters or military posts, alongside them there are also several artificial caves, built in the same period and used as machine gun positions or used as observatories.

The most famous cave in Montello is the Tavaran Grando, we suggest to everyone to immerse themselves in the peace of this place to enjoy the beauty of the nature. Among the green of the meadows, the colors of the flowers, you could to observe the spring growth of nature, accompanied by the sound of the Piave river and the chirping of the birds.
